What is biochar?
Biochar is a carbon-rich product made from organic materials through a process called pyrolysis, where the material is heated to high temperatures in a controlled environment in the absence of oxygen.
This eco-friendly substance has a number of beneficial properties. It enhances soil health by improving its structure, increasing water retention, and boosting nutrient availability. Additionally, biochar helps sequester carbon, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, making it a sustainable solution for agriculture and environmental restoration.
We utilise high quality waste
Our process and expertise utilises waste organic materials from agri-processors and farmers. We offtake these waste streams, giving an additional revenue stream to these audiences
Pyrolysis operations
We build, own and operate pyrolysis technology to valorise this material through this high temperature process.
Our in-house expertise ensures a high quality process, whilst providing training and jobs to communities in which the site is located
Where possible, we co-locate operations next to the agri-processor, directing heat from our process to facilitate their processes
Biochar
The biochar that is the output is then used in organic fertilisers and other use cases.
CORCs are delivered to the market, facilitating global efforts to decarbonise
